Assembly Intelligence
Design, delivered at the speed of parts.
KLU turns your intent into assemblies built from existing components. Because the parts already exist, you get a real design you can validate and order immediately.
KLU
KLU works after part design. Teams bring their catalogs (ideally STEP with metadata). KLU understands valid connections, places parts in 3D space, checks constraints, and exports assemblies suitable for inspection, simulation, or manufacturing.
- Catalog awareness. Canonical part mapping and connection semantics for consistent pick-place-connect.
- Constraint-checked placement. AI proposes; CAD-kernel logic validates mates and blocks unintended overlap or float.
- STEP-first exports. ISO-10303 assemblies with precise transforms and IDs.
- Instructions & BOM (roadmap). Assembly steps and part lists are planned; we publish progress as it happens.
Status
- Aug 28, 2025: STEP-only checkpoint. Legacy GLB removed; FastAPI with CORS; endpoints for interpretation, resolve-part, floating-part checks, memory snapshots, and STEP export.
- Catalog auto-discover:
.step/.stpfiles register automatically — no manual JSON mapping. - Assembly export: Single and multi-part assemblies built with CadQuery using per-part transforms and exported as real STEP.
- Next: Face/edge mating, constraint-based snapping, stricter output schema for direct transforms, then memory modes.
